Performance

Operations

Our officers, crew and operations team in Greece continually monitor vessel performance. They also ensure all vessels have high health, safety, security and the environment (“HSSE”) standards.

We constantly assess risks and adapt procedures to keep our safety ratings above the industry average. The high standards we set build trust in our people, our ships and our processes, and deliver performance.

Our ships

We manage our ships in-house from the design phase, through construction and during trading operations. The knowledge gained is applied to the planning and construction of new ships to generate a competitive freight rate in line with our customers’ needs.

We work with our shipyards and suppliers to develop new technologies that improve our existing fleet and to help build efficient vessels for the future.

All our vessels under construction have the latest generation of low-pressure dual-fuel two-stroke X-DF engines.

They have very low boil-off rates of 0.07% and are equipped with either reliquefaction or sub-coolers to manage excess boil-off, creating more trading flexibility, and lead to fuel and efficiency savings for our customers.

Our people

Our people make us who we are, and we are proud of the high retention rate for onshore and offshore staff.

Our operations are solely managed by GasLog people. This retains knowledge, creates a sense of ownership and responsibility, and supports our entrepreneurial culture.

We invest in training and development and our bridge, engine and cargo control room simulator provides our officers with the best preparation. We have recruitment specialists in the Philippines to find high-quality committed crew.

Inclusion and diversity are important, and all staff are required to undergo annual training on our business ethics and standards.

Our processes

Our processes are underpinned by a culture of continuous improvement.

On and offshore our employees are supported by world-class management practices and state-of-the-art technologies in communications and marine safety.

We work with all of our stakeholders to meet existing needs, explore new opportunities and grow in the future.

We are ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001 approved and are audited regularly by various charterers, flag, class societies and other bodies. We receive consistently high results and comments across our operations.

Safety

“Ensuring everyone returns home safely and the environment stays as it was”

Safety is the number one priority for our people and our working environment.

We always assess risks and adapt procedures accordingly. In 2019 year-to-date we have reached over 6.9 million-man hours without a lost-time injury. Our Lost Time Injury Frequency and Total Recordable Case Frequency statistics are consistently and significantly better than the industry averages.

We have won numerous awards (including the 2019 IHS Markit Safety at Sea Award) and receive nominations for our record and approach to safety.
